Oικεῖος

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

M.A.D. (Meat And Dairy)

Indeed, the UN says meat and dairy production account for 18 per cent of greenhouse gases – more than the world’s entire transport system – and the amount of carbon saved by turning vegetarian for a year is, says the Vegan Society in Australia, equal to switching from a normal car to a hybrid for 12 months.

I know her quite well. She teaches the students at City. She is a single interest journalist in the old tradition of having one niche interest and following it to its logical conclusion. She lives, in monetary terms, on the margins.

National Poet

In my distorted view, the responsibility of the national poet is to the land and its inhabitants, not to its rulers.
